Affiliate links, editorial independence, where AI is involved, and the medical line we don't cross.
Money
Some "Where to buy" links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is currently how the site is funded.
Independence
We don't accept sponsorships, paid placements, paid reviews, or gifted products in exchange for coverage. No brand can pay to be added, removed, re-scored or featured. If that ever changes, this page changes first and any paid content will be labelled as such.
Our method — what we read, what we score, and how confident we are — is written up in how we know this. Corrections are welcome from anyone, brands included: corrections@skinparency.com.
Machines
We use automated tools, including AI models, to read ingredient lists off pack photos and brand pages, to normalise ingredient spellings, and to summarise published evidence. Scores and verdicts themselves are produced by deterministic rules we wrote — not by an AI deciding what it thinks of a product.
AI extraction can be wrong. That's why every product shows where its ingredient list came from and how many independent sources agree, and why single-source lists are labelled as such rather than treated as fact.
People
Community numbers are aggregates of what real users reported after using a product. They are self-reported, unverified, and often based on small samples — we show the sample size so you can judge them. Individual users' entries are never shown to other users.
